Yakima Police and fire investigators are looking for an arsonist and Mark Peterson from Crime Stoppers Yakima is hoping an arrest will be made soon.

Peterson says, “An arsonist is very scary so we want to get this person behind bars. More than likely someone knows something so we’re willing to pay because it is a felony.”

Firefighters said someone deliberately set fire to six different cars in the same area in January. A fire at Abbott's Printing was also ruled an arson. Firefighters say they responded to an alley behind the printing shop several times for dumpster fires, and eventually one fire made it to the building.

Investigators suspect the car fires and the dumpster fires are related.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 248-9980 or YPD at 575-6200.
