October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and Heritage University has planned a number of events draw attention to the very serious problem.

This Friday October 7, 12:00 pm is Wear Your Ribbon With Pride : Lamba Theta Alpha Zeta lota Chapter is committed to creating awareness and prevention of Domestic Violence and invite you to pick up a purple ribbon and wear it with pride.

Tuesday October 13, 12:00 pm, Stop the Violence Pledge,  at the Pinnell Family Foyer  the Lamba Theta Alpha Zeta lota Chapter will be collecting pledges to support victims and the eradication of domestic violence in our communities. Leave your handprint to show awareness.

Then Tuesday the 13th at 5:00 pm there is a Self Defense Workshop at Smith Family Hall: With support from Women2Women, this event will provide the opportunity for women to learn and practice self-defense techniques in a safe environment with a trained instructor.

And on Friday October 21, 6:00 pm, Smith Family Hall: Lamba Theta Alpha Zeta lota Chapter invite you to attend the 2nd annual Big Man on Campus Scholarship Showcase. The male pageant is a fundraising event designed to spread awareness of domestic violence and its impact in our community. Funds raised will be used to support the work of the Lower Valley Crisis and Support Services Center.
