The bar was set high when Tim Russert passed away in 2008 after 16 years as host of NBC’s "Meet the Press." I was disappointed to see reporter David Gregory ascend to one of television’s most prime positions as Russert’s successor. Now, at last, after six years on MTP and 20 years total at NBC, Gregory is leaving the show and the network -- to which I say good riddance.Under Gregory’s biased approach, "Meet the Press" sunk from first to third place in the ratings, which is where I suspect the show will stay as hosted by his replacement NBC political director Chuck Todd. NBC has revealed time and again that it is “in the tank” for the Obama administration and Gregory’s inability to mask that in any way led to the show's shrinking audience. Over time America has come around on the failures, lies and shortcomings of the president and his people, but NBC and sister channel MSNBC roll on in fawning support. Todd may be more knowledgeable and on the “inside,” but he still works for NBC, he still gargles with Kool-aid. 'Nuff said!

The show has dropped double digits in the ratings during Gregory's tenure with Bob Schieffer's "Face the Nation" on CBS and ABC's "This Week" with George Stephanopoulos having surpassed "Meet the Press" in the ratings.
