Several of Yakima's most crime stricken neighborhoods have been in the dark with little or no street lights for years. But that's changing. The city promised to spend thousands to fix the problem, and the lights are now being installed. It's something most of us take for granted, walking to and from you home without fear. But for Adriana Benitez, fright was the norm and it wasn't just outside that was the problem. Adriana says her pitch black block caused her home to be an easy target for all sorts of criminals. And unfortunately it wasn't just Adriana's street dealing with that violence. as our news partner KIMA Action News previously reported in march, of the 198 felony assaults last year, 114 happened where street lights are scarce.
