Living in a desert setting, it's easy to forget there is such deep forest beauty just 20 minutes from us. But State Rout 410 between Naches and Whistlin' Jack Lodge is absolutely breathtaking. It truly is Mother Nature's gift to us. There are so many sights to see. I remember the first time I drove toward Chinook Pass I passed by a camping resort. I saw a bear chasing a guy up a tree. I am not kidding, I thought it was real for a half a second. Whoever put the bear rug and the fake man on the tree did a good job.

Of all the beauty going toward Chinook Pass, one of my favorite things is that silly fake man and bear. I really hope that whoever put it there never takes it down. I love it.
