Police Investigate Possible Gang Connection in Fatal Shooting

Yakima Police continue to search for the killer of a 25-year-old man shot in an East Yakima neighborhood this past Thursday.

Police say shots were fired Thursday night at South Seventh and Pine streets in Yakima. Elidoro Navarro, 25, was found dead at the scene, after witnesses heard multiple shots.

Yakima detectives and the gang unit are investigating. This is the first murder of 2015 in the city of Yakima, the second for the county.

According to police, Navarro had past gang ties, but whether the shooting was gang related is still under investigation. Police have no one in custody, but if you have any information call Yakima Police, 575-6200.
