North 1st Street
Newstalk KIT

Yakima city officials will talk Thursday about upgrading the city’s front door — North First Street.

The city is holding a public work session at City Hall to talk about improvements along North First Street, considered the official entrance to the city of Yakima.

City Manager Tony O’Rourke says the city must invest in the area to help address major concerns that a lot of people have about the city.

We’ve made major investments in Yakima Avenue, but we need to continue to make those investments if the community wants to reach its’full potential.

If you are interested in what is happening along North First Street, the city’s public work session runs from 4-6 p.m.
