Mayor Tries To Save Group Responsible For Downtown Cleanup

With a vote of the Yakima City Council last week a group that helped clean up downtown Yakima was put out of business. The council voted last week against imposing a tax on business and property owners to continue the cleanup work downtown. So now it's up to Mayor Micah Cawley. He's called a meeting of business and property owners at the Seasons Performance Hall at 6pm tonight to talk about the future of the CDY and see if the group can be saved from shutting down at the end of the month.
