Man Arrested In Stabbing Over The Weekend

A man is in custody and another man was treated at a local hospital for a stabbing wound after the two got into a fight over an ex girlfriend. The stabbing happened in front of Yakima Cinema on North 16th avenue at about 8:30 last night. Police say the 23 year old suspect confronted the 26 year old victim who was with the younger man's ex girlfriend. The two started to fight and the 26 year old was stabbed in the side with a pocketknife. He was taken to Yakima Hospital where he was treated for the non life threatening wound. The 23 year old suspect faces an assault charge. He's being held in the county jail today.
