Lower Valley Farm Worker Killed by Tractor/Sprayer Rollover

A fatal accident in a lower valley orchard occurred on Wednesday morning. Yakima County Sheriff’s Deputies say a 44-year-old man was changing a tire on an orchard sprayer that was attached to a tractor when the sprayer/tractor rolled over him. The tractor was still running and didn’t stop until it hit a nearby tree.

Members from the fire department attempted CPR on the worker but were unsuccessful. The worker was pronounced dead at the scene.  No names are being released at this time. The Department of Labor and Industries was contacted and will be conducting an investigation as this was a work-related accident. The accident happened at a farm near Wapato in the 28 hundred block of West Wapato Road.
