There is finally an end to a near six year ordeal for one local family. Tuesday evening the city council unanimously voted to approve a $350,000 settlement to the lone survivor in a deadly police pursuit in 2006.

Juan Hernandez Ortega was a passenger in the vehicle that was struck by a stolen car driven by Blake Young. Guillermo Aguilar and Edgar Trevino-Mendoza were killed in the accident at the intersection of 48th and Nob Hill.

Settlements for Aguilar's family and the Trevino-Mendoza family have already been reached.

The city told our news partner KIMA Action News, Ortega's settlement will be split in half between the city's insurance and the State Department of Corrections.

Young was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder, and is serving 36 years behind bars.
