Lawmakers in Olympia say they have reached a final budget deal to avoid a government shutdown. Governor Jay Inslee released a statement after the deal was announced. "I am happy and I know were are all relieved to report to you that lawmakers have reached agreement on an operating budget for the next biennium. This allows us to avert a government shutdown on Monday.  Legislative leaders tell me they will move as quickly as possible to pass the budget and get it to me for my signature."

Lawmakers expect to get on the agreement tomorrow, with the Governor signing it by five o'clock tomorrow.

A deal must be done and signed by the end of this week to avert a government shutdown.
