Downtown Yakima will light up on Monday night. Steve Wiese the owner of Yakima's Leading Force Energy and Design says the long planned lighting of the Larson Building is planned for 5:30 p.m. Monday evening. "We're going to show the different holiday colors and then we'll have a band play the fight song for the winning team from the Rotary auction this coming Saturday."
Depending on who wins the highest bid at Rotary Saturday they'll get their school colors on the building either from University of Washington or Washington State University. Wiese says the lights will be on the East side of the building. The school colors will stay on the building for one week. After that the building will be lit in holiday colors. Eventually Wiese says they want to light the entire building that's owned by Yakima businessman Larry Hull.
