Is America losing its religion?  A new survey says we are.  Religious beliefs and activities seem to be generational.  The younger you get the less likely you are to attend church or even believe in God.

Is this true and if so, how did it happen?  Why would it happen when almost every survey about peace, happiness and contentment includes a religious or spiritual component.  By losing our religious core as a country are we in fact losing the country?

In 1798 John Adam wrote,  “Because we have no government, armed with power, capable of contending with human passions, unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge and licentiousness would break the strongest cords of our Constitution, as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. “
