Investigators Says Suspicious Fire Destroys Yakima Home

kima

A Yakima home was destroyed Sunday in what investigators say was a suspicious fire. It happened around 1:00 p.m. on the 500 block of Erickson Lane.

Officials say everyone was out of the house when they arrived and no one was hurt.

They tell us smoke was coming out of nearly every window of the home. Firefighters used chainsaws to get into the home. The fire took an hour to be put out. Firefighters say the home is a complete loss.

It is unclear what caused the fire, but it is being investigated as suspicious.

Nearly 20 firefighters helped put out the flames. The Red Cross is providing help for the family.
