A graffiti paint out program operated by the Yakima County Juvenile Court is expanding throughout the county. It has been in operation for the past year and uses some special labor.

Yakima County Court Consultant Harold Dehlia says a supervisor takes a team of juvenile offenders that have to serve community hours and spends the weekends painting out graffiti around Yakima.

“But we’re now talking about expanding the program to other cities in the Valley so more communities can benefit.”

Dehlia says the program is partially funded by the court and uses donated paint and materials for the work.

More than 100 different properties were painted by the group this past summer in Yakima.
