Giant Pie Fight Set Guinness World Record

It’s a comedic classic!  Right up there with “a little song a little dance, a little seltzer down the pants”.   I speak of course of the “pie in the face” pie fight!    But that pie could earn you a place in history IF it’s followed up by about 3-thousand more!

More than one thousand people gathered at Another Fine Fest in Ulverston, England, to break the Guinness World Record for the most people in a pie-in-the-face fight breaking the previous record of 869 from 2015.

The fight was held in honor of legendary comic actor STAN LAUREL, who was born in the town and took a pie or two to the chops over the course of his career.

According to the BBC News Ceri Hutton, from Team Pie, said it was "a moment of pure joy when the pies started to fly".   Organizers followed strict rules to make sure the record was valid

Organizers have to send evidence to Guinness to confirm the new world record, they said.

They said they were confident of validation having followed official counting protocol with a "huge electronic turnstile" and thrown nearly 3,000 pies of the regulation size of 16.5cm (6.4") for one minute.  Can you imagine!
