Like a bridge over...well, overdue for maintenance or replacement!  The I-5 bridge collapse near Mt Vernon last year got everyone's attention and now, following a recent evaluation process, 32 bridges are in line to receive more than $70 million in federal highway funds.

The Washington State Department of Transportation this week selected city and county projects that will replace, remove or repair aging and structurally deficient bridges. DOT says these strategic investments will improve and preserve critical, locally owned transportation infrastructure.

One Yakima county bridge is on the the list.  The Fort Road Bridge will be replaced at a cost of $1,257, 360.
