2,000 pounds of food for the needy was stolen from Yakima's Sunrise Outreach Center. Workers discovered the theft Wednesay when they opened the pantry for the first time since the weekend. The community center at the Vineyard Church feeds more than 1,500 people each month. Most of the stolen items were canned foods. People at the center are in shock that someone would steal food from those who need it most. Church Pastor Dave Hanson says the heavy food could have been packed into a large pick-up truck. The church is working with police to find suspects and recover the food.
