Playing up on the two biggest attractions of their annual event—food and fun—officials at the Central Washington State Fair are hoping patrons come to the Fair this year to “Taste The Fun!” That is the theme line that will run through the advertising and promotion for this year’s Fair when it gets underway in September. “All of our surveys show that the number one attraction of our Fair is the food,” said Fair president and general manager Greg Stewart. “Along with our 60-plus unique food vendors our Fair will again feature all kinds of great family entertainment.” Each year the Fair presents several nights of big name entertainment, a variety of other free entertainment, 10 acres of midway rides and games, petting zoos and many other attractions during their 10-day run. Stewart said he and his staff are working hard to pull together this year’s version of the annual Fair, which is set to run September 20-29 in Yakima. “We are working on getting some extra special entertainment, food vendors and attractions in place to give people more chances to come enjoy the food and fun,” Stewart said. Every year some 300,000 people come out for the unique Fair foods and all the fun that make it the largest single family entertainment event in the region.
