Two fires kept Yakima firefighters busy over the weekend.

The first was reported at a home on South First Avenue early Sunday morning. Two men and a boy were able to escape the flames caused by cooking oil on a stove.

The fire heavily damaged the home on the 900 block of South First Avenue. Damage is estimated at $86,000.

The other fire was quickly doused by firefighters at a duplex on South 44th Ave. across from Eisenhower High School. It was reported Sunday afternoon.

The cause is under investigation. No injuries were reported in either fire.
