Fallen Local Hero Comes Home Today


A fallen local hero is coming home today .(Friday)  The body  of Army Captain Aaron Blachard, who was killed in Afghanistan last week is schedule to arrive at the Yakima AirTerminal at 3:30, followed by a procession and go east on Washington then North on First Street to Yakima avenue west  to Kieth and Kieth Funeral home.  Blanchard, a graduate of Selah High School, leaves behind his wife Becky, and two small children, agest 4 and 2.  A funeral with full military honors for the 32 year old Selah native will be held at Stone Church at 3303 Englewood Avenue Saturday morning at 11.  Washington Governor Jay Inslee, himself a former Selah resident, and whose son once played soccer with Blanchard  will attend the funeral.
