Local Stabbing Marks The Weekend

A fight at a Yakima motel early Saturday morning resulted in a 28-year-old man being stabbed in the chest multiple times. Several Yakima Police officers responded to the call at 607 East Yakima Avenue, in a parking lot near the Red Lion Hotel. When officers arrived, several people were still fighting.

An officer stopped a vehicle that was leaving the parking lot and determined that the occupants were involved. Witnesses later positively identified one of the vehicle passengers, a 22-year-old male, as the individual who stabbed the victim. The victim, who has not been identified, remains at a Yakima hospital. The suspect is being held in the county jail.
