Time flies when you are enjoying a delicious peanut butter sandwich.  It was just two weeks ago we were celebrating Peanut Lover's Day -- a day dedicated to the taste buds of one Katelyn Autumn Ettl …and millions of other kids for that matter.  She simply loves the stuff and true confessions--so do I!!

The average child will eat 1,500 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches before he or she graduates high school. The average American adult eats 3.36 pounds of peanut butter each year and that's a good thing because it can help you lose weight. Researchers at Purdue University say that peanuts and peanut products cut the appetite. "The high protein and fiber content in peanuts may play an important role in curbing hunger and thereby not promoting weight gain," say nutritionists.

Peanut butter has been popular since the early 1900s, but no one seems to know who invented it. Today, it is an $800 million industry dominated by household names such as Jif, Skippy, and Peter Pan.
