The Yakima County Planning Commission is not supporting the county's ban on pot sales and production.

The commission is recommending the county approve changes to land-use laws and allow the sale and production of marijuana. The recommendations were presented to Yakima County Commissioners on Wednesday.

Last month, the Planning Commission held an open house to discuss the issue. Despite the recommendation, county commissioners have the final say on the issue.

Back in February, commissioners voted to extend the moratorium on growing, processing or selling marijuana in the county for another six months.
