PASCO, Wash. (AP) — A coroner's inquest into the death of an orchard worker who was gunned down by Pasco police officers has been scheduled for next year.

Franklin County Coroner Dan Blasdel says he will begin his inquest in February 2016 into the death of 35-year-old Antonio Zambrano-Montes, who was throwing rocks at police when he was shot.

A prosecutor announced last month that the three police officers who opened fire on Zambrano-Montes wouldn't be facing any criminal charges in the man's death. An independent review also found that officers Adam Wright, Adrian Alaniz and Ryan Flannagan hadn't violated any police policies in the February shooting.

The federal government continues to investigate the shooting. The state of Washington has also announced plans to review the charging decision.
