City leaders in Yakima want to open a medical clinic for city employees which may save taxpayers money.

Yakima City Manager Tony O'Rourke says the clinic would save about $360,000 in taxpayer money.

The clinic would be based at the Yakima Sunfair building at the fairgrounds. Building officials have already agreed to a three year lease.

If approved, the clinic could open as soon as February.

This proposal comes as Yakima pays more for employee health care coverage. The city tells us health care costs will increase more than one million dollars next year.
