Can you act? If so the Zillah School District is looking for you. District officials say they're looking for actors for an upcoming emergency drill to prepare school officials for an active shooter situation. The exercise is planned for 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. June 11, and will involve educators, law enforcement, firefighters, paramedics, and hospital workers responding to a person with guns who has entered a school building during school hours.

To make the drill for realistic for law enforcement the district is looking for 100 volunteer actors to portray injured students, teachers, family members and reporters. Kevin Mckay the Superintendent of the Zillah School District says "the drill itself isn't that important. But what is important is to make sure we're prepared if anything horrible like this ever happened at one of our schools."

The school district says actors must be middle school age or older, and will need to be prepared to stay throughout the exercise. Food and beverages will be provided. To sign up as a volunteer, call the Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management at 574-1900 or e-mail helga.staffan@co.yakima.wa.us
