Body Camera Captures Man Assaulting Spokane Police Officer

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A man has been charged with assaulting a Spokane Police officer after the officer's body camera recorded the incident.

KREM-TV reports that the Aug. 1 incident occurred when the officer responded to a call about an intoxicated man downtown. While the officer was trying to help the intoxicated man, the suspect began filming the interaction and later became aggressive.

Police say anyone is welcome to film officers while they are working, but in this case the man got in the way of the officer doing his job.
