The forecast for the next few days couldn’t be better.  Bu if that isn’t reason enough to break out the bicycle, consider this.  Moderate exercise can improve your memory and thinking skills.  University of Hamburg researchers studied 68 inactive adults who were randomly assigned to an hour long stretching or cycling program twice a week.

After only six months, both the cycling and the stretching groups performed better on memory tests than an inactive control group. The cyclers showed the most improvement in long term memory, while the stretchers showed greater improvement in attention. The study suggests that combining different types of exercise would be most beneficial.

So stretch out, get loose, get on the bike and we’ll see you outside!
