The Better Business Bureau warns of scams in the Yakima Valley this spring and summer. Spokesperson Chelsea Dannon says some of the most popular are the paving and landscaping scams. A woman in Naches spent $6,000 on a new driveway. The driveway did not turn out the way she wanted.

Dannon says the woman tried to contact the man but he was nowhere to be found. He was not a licensed contractor or from the state. Many of the scammers target remote areas of the county where they think they can find the best victim. Dannon says if you need work done around your home this spring and summer hire local contractors, the people you and your neighbors know and trust. She says that is the best way to avoid getting ripped off.
