13% of the 106,000 ballots sent to Yakima County voters have been returned to the auditors office. A week from tomorrow is the General election. Statewide the Secretary of State's office says that 10.6 percent of voters have mailed back their ballots in advance of next Tuesday's election.
State spokesman David Ammons says that of the more than 3.9 million ballots that have been sent to Washington State voters, as of Today, just over 417,000 ballots have been returned.
Washington State is a vote-by-mail state, and voters need to have their ballots postmarked by Nov. 4 in order for their votes to count. Voters also can drop off their ballots at special drop boxes set up around the state.
