This could be considered “misleading”. Google search for “The Bite” and what you’ll get first is the synopsis of a 1989 movie about the aftermath of a radioactive snake bite: After a young man is bitten on the hand by a radioactive snake, his hand changes into a lethal snake head, which attacks everyone he comes into contact with. Also, his body becomes filled with snakes. Now, he must prevent himself from hurting others.
I had the pleasure of having lunch with the mayor and the chief of police today. Mayor Micah Cawley is a longtime friend and the chief is fast becoming a friend, too. He is a man of vision and honor. He has a passion for his work and he has a wicked sense of humor! He is just a lot of fun to be around. He is a cat person, but I overlook that because of all his other positive qualities.
Earlier this week we told you how to get a summer job as a Zombie in Spokane on a SyFy Network zombie series. Maybe that wasn't exotic enough for you, so how about trading locations for London and a part in ‘Star Wars: Episode 7‘?
There are plenty of pranks, jokes and teasing that all go on inside a typical newsroom and KIT is no different. Lance and I were brainstorming just the other day on what to pull over on Mike Bastinelli and we sniffed out this!
Here on KIT we generally reserve our conversation to the high brow, (right!) the political, the family, the Red-White-&-Blue kinda conversations but hey, we’re human too! So when poll results are released about the opposite sex, well, we’ve been known to take a peek! Apparently we like what we see --but those being seen aren’t so sure. I’ll explain.
OK, file this under “Saw this one coming”. Premise - you aren’t passing your college classes so you drop out. You could make a case for that individual “Not Being Too Smart.” Stay with me. You don't tell your parents you dropped out--thus reinforcing the case for being "not too smart"!
This week’s weather forecast looks amazing! Low to mid 80’s thru Friday. Global warming? Kidding! The feds just came out with another report on global warming which has both sides of the argument scrambling to shore up each side of their argument. Do you think man’s activity really does affect the weather?
I’m getting better at not taking the bait, not feeling the need to defend or challenge every printed swipe at city council. I’ve been on council for 4 ½ years and we aren’t perfect and we’ve made mistakes for which we deserve our lumps but I still feel defensive when attacks, subtle or overt, aren’t justified.
he Yakima Valley’s crown jewel of higher education got some high profile exposure this week when Heritage University President Dr. John Bassett testified before a senate committee in our Nation’s capital.
Look, it’s time we quit complaining about crime in our valley and start doing something about it. We need your thoughts, your interest and ideas to help craft the solutions that will reduce crime and make us all feel safer in our beautiful Yakima Valley.
