One of two teens arrested in connection with an attempted burglary in the Terrace Heights area Wednesday morning is now behind bars.

Yakima County sheriff's deputies say the suspect was out on bail in Kittitas County on a separate burglary charge. Kittitas County issued a warrant for him Wednesday afternoon on the assumption he committed a new crime while on release. Members of the Yakima County Violent Crimes Task Force served the warrant and took the teen into custody, then transported him to Kittitas County, where he was booked.

The other teen was released to his parents.

The burglary was reported at a home in the 300 block of Wendt Road. The homeowner was home and took pictures of the suspects. He confronted them with a shotgun and the suspects drove away.

The suspect vehicle was stopped nearby and the two were taken into custody.
