Since 1910 the motto of the Boy Scout has been______?  You probably got it right whether you were a scout or not.  That’s how closely the scouts and the slogan “Be Prepared” are linked, so it only makes sense to have those historically “most prepared” involved in an exercise of emergency preparedness!

The Yakima Valley Office of Emergency Management will conduct a workshop for area Boy Scout troops based upon a failure of the French Canyon Dam and its impact to the community of Tieton.

The workshop will include drills to include (1) Collection and Distribution Services; and, (2) Emergency Mobilization Plans and Preparation.

Tieton Boy Scout Troop 263 will be hosting the workshop followed by a series of drills on June 9th at Tieton Intermediate School on Franklin Rd.  Activities will begin at 8:00 a.m. and conclude at noon.
