A Pennslvania-based company has purchased GE Aviation of Yakima. According to a press release issued by Triumph Actuation Systems, the purchase price was $70 million. Triumph Group Inc. is an aerospace manufacturer based in Berwyn, Pa.

Company President and CEO Jeffry D. Frisby said in a press release:

We are pleased to have acquired Triumph Actuation Systems-Yakima and Triumph Actuation Systems-UK & IOM. Through this acquisition, we obtain additional proprietary systems that augment our existing hydraulic system capabilities and an outstanding group of employees. In addition, this acquisition furthers our strategic goal of increasing our global footprint, optimizing our segment and customer balance, and positioning ourselves for future growth. We are also pleased that the existing management team will remain with Triumph.”

 

 

GE Aviation's Yakima plant is on Washington Avenue near the Yakima Airport. It produces landing gear and other hydraulic parts.
