The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce has been working on behalf of business large and small for the past 125 years.  Most of the work is one on one with business without a lot of publicity and fanfare but the Chamber looks to lift their profile a bit during the every changing guidelines landscape of the Coronavirus pandemic..

The Chairperson of the Board, Kristi Foster of Wheatland Bank and Chamber CEO Verlynn Best visited with KIT News about the challenges facing local business.

Best says she wants all businesses opened up and was critical of what appears to be a "picking of winners and losers" by the Governor's office in the way the COSTCO Covid outbreak was handled.  All along most businesses have just wanted an even playing field with common sense guidelines.

The Chamber isn't too pleased by the Governor's new "multi county district" approach to monitoring the Coronavirus either.  Best says that puts Yakima at the mercy of other counties outside Yakima's control,
