Yakima residents had a chance last week to view designs of a proposed pool planned for Martin Luther King Jr. Park. Now the Director of Yakima Parks and Recreation Ken Wilkenson says the city consultant is now putting together a final report using comments and suggestions from the swimming pool design meeting on June 12. that final report will be presented to the city parks and recreation board on September 11 at Yakima City hall.  He says in the meantime he'll be searching for funding sources. He says both private and public funding sources will be considered for the pool which is expected to cost more than $4 million.
