Yakima Police Investigating Fatal Shooting On Cherry Avenue

Yakima Police are investigating a homicide reported at about 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. Police say officers were called to the 1400 block of Cherry Avenue regarding shots being fired. When they arrived they found a 33-year-old man dead on the sidewalk. The man died from gunshot wounds. Witnesses say the victim was walking down the sidewalk when he was confronted by another male, also on the sidewalk. The suspect then shot the victim and fled the area on foot.

Yakima Police detectives are currently investigating the case.
