A Yakima man and his wife were witnesses to the mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday. Don Aman, a local EMT and volunteer firefighter was in the V.I.P. tent at the Route 91 Harvest Festival country music concert when he first heard the sound of gunfire.

Aman says he immediately went to the edge of the tent to look out into the crowd.

"It wasn't until people started falling in the main area that I realized what was happening. Law enforcement was jumping over the wall and I saw a law enforcment officer get shot," Aman told KIT News from Las Vegas early Monday.
Aman says he immediately started to help the police officer and others who were injured.
Aman says he and his wife became separated as people started running. He says they later met at their hotel. Neither was injured. He and his wife are flying back to Yakima later tonight.
