First responders in the Yakima Valley are first in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and firefighters at the Yakima Fire Department received the vaccine on Tuesday. A press release says firefighters received the Pfizer vaccine at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. They were the first from the department to get the vaccine other responders will also get the shots. Chief Aaron Markham, one of nine from YFD to receive the vaccine says it felt just like the flu vaccine that he gets every year.
Front line medical workers like doctors and nurses were the first to receive the vaccine in Yakima late last year when the vaccine first arrived in the county.
