Yakima City Manager Tony O'Rourke has changed his mind and decided not to resign. And at Tuesday's Yakima City council meeting a vote of 6-1 failed in an effort to immediately fire the city manager. So Today O'Rourke remains the city manager among a heated discussion at last nights' city council meeting in which council members were set to talk about and vote on a severance package for O'Rourke. at Tuesday's council meeting O'Rourke says he never offered a resignation to the council in writing and decided Tuesday he won't be submitting a written resignation to the city in the future.
A small number of protesters were at Tuesday's meeting hoping the council would not vote in favor of a severance package.
