No car tab increase yet.

The Yakima city council Tuesday decided to hold off a vote on a proposed car tab increase until a public hearing can be held in July. The proposed $19 increase was on the Tuesday agenda but the meeting was held in the afternoon when not a lot of people could attend the meeting so the council decided to wait and hold a public hearing before a vote at the july 11 meeting.
It will be the third time the city has voted on a proposed car tab increase. The council in January and in March of this year voted no on tab increases for city residents to pay for street and sidewalk upgrades and repairs.
