Yakama Warriors To Host Vietnam Vets Welcome Home Celebration

Welcome Home. Two words.  Just two simple words.  Welcome Home.  For tens of thousands of Vietnam veterans returning from the war, hearing those two words would have meant the world, would have helped bring them peace.    For tens of thousands of Vietnam vets, not hearing those words added to a life long burden of pain, anger, sadness and resentment.  Time heals all wounds? Not always.  But an honest "Welcome Home" is amazing medicine.

Full Military Honors will be performed Saturday, March 31 at 1:00 PM at Sarge Hubbard Park, as the Yakama Warriors Association invites the public and all veterans for a Welcome Home Vietnam Veteran's Day celebration.

The Keynote Speaker will be Francisco Ivarra, Region 8 Director of the Vietnam Veterans of America. Yakama Warriors Association Commander Vic Wood and 14th District State representative Norm Johnson are also scheduled to appear.

Bring your appetite for free hotdogs and beverages and spend part of your Saturday with a "Welcome Home" for the patriots of the Vietnam War.
