Free Breakfast for Disabled Veterans in Yakima This Saturday

This Saturday, April 18th, will mark the final free breakfast for the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8 in Yakima. D.A.V. Chapter 8 has been a large supporter of our military vets and often hosts job and health resource fairs, vocation rehabilitation, free breakfasts for Yakima County disabled veterans.

The nonprofit group's volunteers cited dwindling membership and lack of participation as the catalyst behind this being their last free breakfast for disabled veterans.

Various local businesses have donated food and beverages for the chapter's breakfasts, including Tree Top in Selah, who are listed as a juice sponsor for the final breakfast on Saturday.

The D.A.V.'s final free breakfast will run from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 8 headquarters at 911 N 15th Ave. The building is located right off North 16th Ave.

If you want to help donate time or resources, reach out to Howard D. Campbell, who is listed on the local chapter contact on the D.A.V. website. The chapter meets every fourth Sunday at 7 p.m. at the 911 N 15th Ave location.

Local volunteer group, Quilts of Valor®, frequently donates quilts for veterans. They have volunteers from Naches, Yakima, and Sunnyside who create quilts that quilts provide comfort and healing to our vets.
