Yakima Police have named a homicide suspect they believe killed a 51-year-old woman at her Yakima home on Monday, August 30. Yolonda Tapia was found dead in her home in the 200 block of South Naches Avenue on Monday morning.

TAPIA WAS FOUND DEAD IN THE BEDROOM OF HER HOME MONDAY

She was found in her bedroom with suspicious marks on her body. At that time detectives with the Yakima Police Department Major Crimes and Special Assault Unit felt the marks were signs she was killed and they started a possible homicide investigation. Authorities were waiting for the results of an autopsy that was performed on Thursday in King County. The autopsy found Tapia had been strangled or as officials say she died of “asphyxiation by manual strangulation.”
