What? You’re Driving on Some of The Worst Roads in America!
Just take a drive around the state and you'll probably agree that the roads in Washington state are some of the worst in the nation especially on the west side of the state.
A NEW STUDY LOOKS AT THE BEST AND WORST ROADS IN AMERICA
A recent study from Munley Law, https://munley.com/ shows the states with the best roads or smoothest drives. The results probably won't surprise you if you live and drive in the state.
EVER DRIVEN IN THE STATE OF IDAHO?
The law firm analyzed data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics and they found which states have the "highest average rate of acceptable road quality."
Ever driven the roads in Idaho? That's the state that is tops on the list with some 95% of acceptable road miles. So where's Washington state on the list? Well we're pretty much at the bottom. Washington is in fact in the bottom ten states.
YEAH OUR ROADS ARE PRETTY MUCH THE WORST OF THE WORST
With about 20,000 miles of roadway in Washington state the study found that the "percentage of acceptable miles in the state was in the 80s and 90s through the 2000s, but has fallen to the 69-71% range since the 2010s."
States with the highest average:
Idaho - 94.78%
Georgia - 94.5%
Tennessee - 94.17%
North Dakota - 93.96%
Nebraska - 92.47%
Wyoming - 91.51%
Kentucky - 91.24%
Alabama - 90.77%
Montana - 89.6%
Oregon - 89.44%
The worst average? That's New Jersey.

Rhode Island - 51.51%
Connecticut - 58.14%
Hawai’i - 59.27%
California - 59.65%
Massachusetts - 63.47%
Washington - 70.44%
West Virginia - 71.3%
New Mexico - 71.83%
Mississippi - 72.16%
