Valentine's Day is one week away, and for this year's day of love to be an "average" success, you'll need to save about a dollar a day more than last year according to a report from CNBC.

The National Retail Federation (NFR) reports consumers who plan to celebrate with flowers, jewelry, candy, clothes, and other gifts.will spend an average of $143.56, up from   $136.57 last year.

The NFR says 25 percent of consumers who aren't planning a romantic evening still plan to celebrate in other ways and along the way will help tally an accumulated total of some  $19.6 billion, an all-time high, for Valentine's Day this year.  (CNBC)
