If you wear contact lenses you may want to pay attention to this report from Yahoo News.  That is of course unless you want to end up looking like cartoon character droopy dog because a new study published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal shows that wearing contact lenses can seemingly lead to eye droopiness.Researchers reviewed the photographs of 96 sets of identical twins that met on a yearly basis from 2008 to 2010, measuring their level of ptosis, or eye droopiness, in each photo.

That alone makes me glad I’m not a twin but  according the data, wearing either hard or soft contact lenses was associated with ptosis, and the average difference in eyelid droopiness between twins was 0.5 millimeters. Among twins who didn't wear contacts, ptosis was around 1.0 millimeter.

The study says those who wore hard contacts fared the worst, with eye droopiness of 1.84 millimeters, while those who wore soft contacts had eye droopiness of 1.41 millimeters.

I tried contacts 25 years ago and couldn’t get the hang of it…poking about my eyes was just too creepy—and I STILL wound up with droopy lids.  Thanks you genetics!.
