Nob Hill Water Association officials say a 12-inch water main broke along 72nd Avenue between Summitview Avenue and Tieton Drive early Thursday morning flooding and closing the road and leaving some homes and businesses without water. Yakima Fire Department firefighters were called out to help with flooding in at least one home. Crews are making repairs and say only about 5 homes were without water earlier today. Association officials say all the repairs should be made and things back to normal late Thursday or early Friday.
The roadway was closed for several hours.
No word on what caused the pipe to break.
